Master's in Business Analytics: Careers, Salary & GMAT
A master's in business analytics abroad sits where data meets decision-making. It's for students who want to work with analytics but aim at strategy, consulting, or management rather than building models all day. This page covers what business analytics is (and how it differs from data analytics), whether you actually need a GMAT, the roles and salaries it leads to, and where Indian students should study it. We're planners, not agents — we'll tell you honestly whether this or a pure analytics or MBA route fits your goals.
Is it worth it?
If you see yourself in a consulting firm or a strategy/product team rather than deep in code, business analytics is usually the right call. It's also the natural academic cousin of an MBA — many students weigh the two.
What you actually study
- Analytics foundations — statistics, SQL, and visualisation, but applied to business problems.
- Decision modelling & optimisation — turning data into recommendations.
- Strategy, finance, and operations modules — the 'business' half that separates this from a data degree.
- A consulting-style capstone — often a live brief with a real company.
